Yeast production strain for succinic acid

Succinic acid is used as a raw material for polyester resins, dyes and pharmaceuticals with an annual production of around hundreds of thousands tonnes.
To provide a sustainable alternative to fossil sources we have selected and established the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a production organism by Metabolic Engineering.
